Sendle AU bookings offline — replacement landscape for Shopify stores

Shopify Help is blunt: Sendle is no longer available as a supported path for purchasing shipping labels in Australia. Merchants are told to remove Sendle rates and use MyPost Business or other carriers. Shippo documented that Sendle ceased all operations as of January 2026. ReadyToShip / profile notes put new bookings stopping around 11 January 2026. ABC News covered the collapse later that month.

Return under new ownership: In July 2026, McKenna Worldwide Services (MD Andrew McKenna) acquired the Sendle brand, trademarks, and domain names from the liquidators — not Sendle Pty Ltd itself and not its debts (SmartCompany; Business News Australia; Startup Daily). Press reports said the service was expected to be up and running by September 2026; the new-look Sendle was described as operating alongside Quantium Solutions for global deliveries. Pricing, coverage, and carrier partnerships are still emerging — check sendle.com for the latest.

As of 21 Sep 2026: The September relaunch was a press target; check sendle.com or the Shopify App Store for current status. Liquidation context: AU bookings ceased ~Jan 2026; McGrathNicol liquidation ~Feb 2026.

This guide maps replacement paths while AU bookings remain offline, with App Store ratings and published prices as of 21 Sep 2026.

What broke

If your checkout or fulfilment depended on Sendle via Shopify Shipping or a third-party "Works with Sendle" app:

New AU bookings stopped (~11–12 Jan 2026 window per press / partner notes).
Shopify's help docs tell you to remove Sendle shipping rates.
You need another label path: native MyPost, an AusPost specialist app, or a multi-carrier platform.

Some competitor listings still show Sendle under "Works with." Assume these are stale until you confirm live bookings. "Works with Sendle" tiles may not reflect current integration status.

Path A — Native MyPost Business

Best when: You're happy with Australia Post for most parcels and want the lowest software cost.

Shopify expanded MyPost Business account linking to Grow and Basic plans on 9 Feb 2026 (changelog). Shopify Help covers Australia Post labels in admin.

Limits to know: Native MyPost is a feature floor, not a multi-carrier rate shop. eParcel / StarTrack / non-AusPost couriers usually mean a paid app or external account.

Path B — AusPost specialist apps

Best when: You need richer AusPost workflows (eParcel / StarTrack / UX) beyond native, but not a full multi-carrier TMS.

Pricing as of 21 Sep 2026 (check listings for current rates):

App	Published pricing	Shopify reviews	Notes
AMP Australia Post Shipping	$14.99/mo unlimited · no per-label software fee	4.3 / 137	Long-tenure AusPost specialist
Joovii (multiple SKUs)	AusPost ~$9.95; Shipping Free+$9.95; Multi ~$14.95	Cite per SKU (scores differ)	Some SKUs still name Sendle — stale risk
Ricemill	Free ≤50 · $15/500 · $25 unlimited	5.0 / 24	MyPost, eParcel, StarTrack, Aramex
Koi	$49/mo ≤500 · $299 Pro	4.2 / 9	OMS + AusPost labels + inventory sync

Path C — Multi-carrier platforms

Best when: You rate-shop across AusPost + Aramex / others, need automation, or outgrew AusPost-only.

App	Pricing (published)	Reviews	One-liner fit
Starshipit	$35 / $100 / $140 / $385/mo by labels	3.8 / 209	Mature automation + WMS depth; trust mixed
Shippit	Lite + $0.75/booking; Plus $499; high $1,599 (site Pro 999 excl GST — mismatch)	2.8 / 88	TMS / enterprise direction; weak Shopify score
Smart Send	Free to install; pay freight/labels (VIP/BYO fees — reconfirm on site)	4.9 / 11	Bulky / heavy / long narrative; small sample
ReadyToShip	Free install; from ~5¢/label	4.9 / 93	High-trust label staple; Sendle still in Works-with
Pack to the Future	Free Forever ≤100 bookings (full product) · Starter $49/mo · Enterprise $3,990/yr · $0.75/booking fee	5.0 / 7	AI sizing + multi-carrier; small review n
OrderOps	Free ≤50 · $39–$399/mo	5.0 / 1	Pack-bench / fulfilment OS — peer, not clone
EZShip	Free listing; check App Store for paid tiers	0 / 0	New multi-carrier; no reviews yet

Incumbents published their own lists — useful as their marketing, not gospel:

Stale Sendle mentions (merchant caution)

As of research pulls around 19–21 Sep 2026:

ReadyToShip Works with still lists Sendle
Joovii Multi / related Joovii shipping paths still name Sendle in places

Do this: Before you rely on any "Sendle" tile, create a test booking or ask support whether AU Sendle is live. After January 2026, "Works with Sendle" on a listing is a red flag until proven otherwise.

How Pack fits (no crown)

Pack to the Future is a live AU Shopify shipping app while Sendle AU bookings remain offline:

Free Forever — full product, 100 bookings per Shopify billing cycle (multi-parcel = 1)
Starter $49/mo (or $580/yr) — volume unlock only
Enterprise $3,990/yr — retail fulfilment, SLA, white-label, 3PL (talk to us). API keys are issued by Pack on request (support@packtothefuture.co) and aren't limited to Enterprise.
Platform label fee $0.75 per booking; carriers on listing include Australia Post, Aramex
Shopify 5.0 / 7 as of 21 Sep 2026 (check current rating)
Reviews mention Sendle-migrant merchants among early adopters

Pack is one of many options in the post-Sendle landscape.

Checklist

Remove dead Sendle rates from Shopify shipping settings (per Shopify Help).
Decide AusPost-only vs multi-carrier for the next 90 days.
If AusPost-only → native MyPost first; specialist app if you need eParcel/StarTrack UX.
If multi-carrier → shortlist 2–3 apps; print a real label on each; read recent 1★ and 5★ reviews.
Flag any Sendle Works-with leftovers as stale until proven.
Budget SaaS honestly: $499 Shippit Plus vs $49 Pack Starter vs per-label ReadyToShip vs free-install Smart Send are different curves.
