Some news we've been itching to share. Pack to the Future is partnering with BuildTrack Pro, and we're building a native Pack integration into their back end.

It's the first time Pack will live inside someone else's ERP, and I'm genuinely excited about it. It's a good fit for both of us, so here's what's happening and why we think it matters.

Who BuildTrack Pro are

BuildTrack Pro call themselves the operating system for vehicle builders, workshops and dealerships. It brings workshop job costing, a vehicle-fitment catalogue and inventory, landed-cost purchasing, and wholesale and retail sales channels into one platform, with native Xero and Shopify connections. It's built and hosted in Australia, and it's designed around how the automotive trade actually runs rather than being a generic system bent to fit.

The businesses using it work in the automotive space, where a lot of what gets shipped is long, heavy and awkward. That's exactly the kind of freight where a quote that's slightly off turns into a real cost later.

What the integration will do

Once it's rolled out, BuildTrack Pro users will be able to do all of this without leaving BuildTrack Pro:

Get freight quotes on their orders
Pull live rates for each available service
Book the freight
Print the labels
Watch tracking for those orders

The split is simple. Pack provides the rates engine and Product AI. BuildTrack Pro's booking system and front-end screens handle the bookings. Their users stay in the system they already run their business on, and Pack does the work in the background.

We like it this way. Nobody wants another tab open just to find out what a delivery will cost.

Freight quotes that hold up

For heavy and bulky orders, the integration leads with Pack Freight, which is connected to a network of Australia's bulky freight providers.

Two things make those quotes more reliable:

Cubic dimensions. Freight is charged on size as much as weight. Pack works out cubic dimensions more accurately, so the chargeable weight in the quote is right before anything is booked.
Residential addresses. Delivering a pallet to a house is a different job to delivering it to a business with a forklift. Pack catches residential address issues before a booking is made, so the fee is in the quote rather than turning up weeks later on the carrier invoice.

Our focus has always been accuracy, not chasing the lowest number on the screen. A quote you can trust is worth more than one that looks good and falls apart at invoice time.

Parcels too, on the same order

Parcels are part of it as well. Pack's rates engine covers our Pack Network partner carriers, Aramex and Couriers Please, and Australia Post through the business's own MyPost Business account.

The integration will support multi-carrier and multi-parcel bookings. So if an order has a pallet going via Pack Freight, the business can still split the shipment and send the smaller items on the same order via Australia Post (MyPost Business) or a Pack Network carrier. Each part of the order goes the way that suits it, and it all stays together in BuildTrack Pro.

The cool part: Product AI

This is the bit I'm most excited about.

Shopify only stores dead weight for a product. There's no length, width or height. Freight is priced on cubic size, so without dimensions every quote on a bulky item is a guess.

Product AI is how we fix that. We're building and optimising our own product library through AI, adding L×W×H to products so quotes can be worked out on real cubic size. It has analysed more than 281,000 products so far. That work started across automotive parts and furniture, and it extends to every vertical, with a focus on bulky gear, where guessing hurts the most.

A few things make it work:

SKU matching. If a store sells the same part as another store, it benefits from the work we've already done on that part.
Enrichment from real shipments. Every real shipment feeds back into the library, so the data keeps getting sharper over time.
Verification with anomaly checks. Products are checked, and anomalies are flagged. One set of rogue dimensions shouldn't throw off everyone else selling something similar.

BuildTrack Pro will integrate Product AI directly. That means as their users' catalogues come through, Product AI will start pulling in dimensions for SKUs we already know across the industry, and from there more accurate rates. For a business with a big catalogue of bulky parts, that's a lot of measuring and data entry that won't need doing by hand.

It also works the other way. Every BuildTrack Pro shipment will help make the library stronger for everyone using it. That compounding is my favourite part of building this.

When it's coming

The integration is being built now and will be rolling out to BuildTrack Pro users in early October 2026. BuildTrack Pro will share details with their users as it becomes available, and we'll post an update here too.
