The Washington Football Team shouldn’t be allowed back in Green Bay until they apologize for Lambeau Leaping without scoring. After that win, in a 24-10 defensive treat, The Packers head to the desert for what was to be slated as a clash of titans. Green Bay unfortunately loses Davante Adams, Allen Lazard and in rhythm defensive coach, Joe Barry. Obviously losing your top two receivers isn’t a great cause for optimism. Rodgers is 6-0 without Davante so move past the concern and realize with Aaron Rodgers at the helm, there is never defeat until the final whistle or dirtbag refs. A fool proof excuse machine.

Expect Kyler Murray to receive favorable roughing penalties as mighty mouse is the NFL’s new lovechild as a result of the Mahomes brothers putting on ugly performances. Speaking of excessive, Thursday’s showdown is guaranteed to be loaded with Pewaukee native JJ Watt and he is sitting out with a shoulder injury that requires surgery. The other major concern for the Cardinals is whether world beater DeAndre Hopkins is healthy enough to play as he is questionable with a hamstring issue.

Arizona is loaded with talent on both sides of the ball, highlighting their perfect 7-0 record. Even with the absence of Hopkins, Kyler Murray has an arsenal of weapons at his disposal with crafty vet AJ Green, rookie speedster Rondale Moore and the shifty Christian Kirk to go along with the recently acquired Zach Ertz. Green Bay meanwhile is rolling out Randall Cobb, his protégé Amari Rodgers and Equinameous St Brown who has been showcasing improvements each week with trustworthy hands. Wildcards Juwann Winfree and Malik Taylor are fully capable of stepping in if given the opportunity. That is all assuming Aaron Rodgers and Matt LaFleur need anyone else besides their big brains and the trio of running backs led by Aaron Jones.

Aaron Rodgers

Aaron hasn’t won in Phoenix since the week before his Hail Mary shootout in the 2009-2010 playoffs where the Packers came up short. A young Aaron doesn’t compare to the calculated play of the league’s reigning MVP. In his post game press conference he shared the offense is still working the kinks out with the shifting of offensive line. Add in the missing wideouts and Green Bay is going to rely on the running game and spreading the ball throughout the offense which makes Aaron Rodgers even more dangerous with an unpredictable target.

Aaron Jones

Thursday will be a heavy dose of Aarons with the reliable running back expected to feature in all facets of the game. Green Bay has deployed Jones in partnership with AJ Dillon and Kylin Hill. AJ Dillon coughing up fumbles doesn’t bode well for his snap count although Hill wasn’t productive with his limited touches. Jones is the reliable weapon who had reduced work in the 2nd half last week assumedly in preparation for the short week. Arizona is allowing just over 12 points a game to fantasy RBs with mixed performances of containing Derrick Henry and then getting gashed by Dalvin Cook right after. Jones versatile use essentially locks him into a volume of touches Thursday

Bobby Tonyan

Was anyone truly surprised when Bobby found the endzone on National Tight End Day? Lock of the year. As for this week, the matchup says Bobby should be shutdown by a stellar Cardinal defense who hasn’t allowed more than 45 yards to TEs all year. The highest output was from LA Ram Tyler Higbee’s 36 yards day in week 4. The Cardinals have held opposing tight ends to less than 20 yards in 5 of 7 games this season. None of this is encouraging for the performance of Bobby Tonyan. LaFleur has always found ways to involve Tonyan with new wrinkles. With the absence of JJ Watt, hopefully Bobby can split out as a big bodied WR for his desperate QB.

Any one receiver, expect the load to be shared by everyone involved with no reliable target monster.

With both teams missing key superstars, there is no excuse for not playing next man up philosophy and approaching this game with confidence. These are two quality teams on each side of the ball so clearly advantage goes to the home team. In this situation, Aaron Rodgers will have to be great and the defense will be asked to hold one of the leagues best offenses. Green Bay has the benefit of having dogs everywhere on defense with big time playmakers showing up against Washington. First rounder Eric Stokes has lived up to the hype with an intense focus to his craft while former top pick Rashan Gary is pushing offensive tackles deep into their own demise.
