With Week 4 in the books, nearly a quarter of the season is through. Injuries have taken their toll on teams and their depth charts, so as you peruse, prioritize your waiver adds based on your team’s positional needs.
Latavius Murray, RB, MIN (Owned in 17.1% of ESPN leagues)
Dalvin Cook went down with a torn ACL and has been lost for the season, so next man up is the former Raider, Latavius Murray. When Cook left the game, Murray received 9 touches (7 carries, 2 receptions) while Jerick McKinnon only received 2 carries, so going forward, it’s looking like it won’t be a committee approach in Minnesota. Murray should be owned in all leagues after waivers process in most leagues on Tuesday.
Alvin Kamara, RB, NO (42.5%)
If you don’t own Kamara, now’s your last chance. He’s become the best back for the Saints, totaling 15 touches and 96 yards with a touchdown last week in London vs. Miami. Ingram will still get work, but Kamara is proving really tough to take off of the field. Kamara is a great flex play and in some weeks, a capable RB2 right now. He is on a bye week but if you have room, grab him!
DeShaun Watson, QB, HOU (29.6%)
Watson’s ownership should skyrocket this week after his 4 touchdown throws and rushing touchdown as the cherry on top of a delicious fantasy Sunday against Tennessee. This makes 2 weeks in a row of excellent games against better than average competition, and the sky is the limit for Watson. He’s a borderline QB1, and if you lost Derek Carr, Watson is a perfect pickup.
Devin Funchess, WR, CAR (24.8%)
Funchess has become the 2nd option of wide receivers for Carolina, parlaying 9 targets into 7 catches and two touchdowns in Week 4. He’s amassed a total of 19 targets in the last two weeks, so if he’s still available, he should be owned in most leagues other than the most shallow ones. He should receive quite a bit of red zone work with his large frame (6’5″, 236).
Will Fuller, WR, HOU (18.9%)
WIll Fuller returned in Week 4 after mending from a broken collarbone, catching two touchdowns and 4 receptions. On a team bereft of receiving options other than DeAndre Hopkins, Fuller fills a big time need for ascending QB Deshaun Watson. Fuller should be added in most leagues, but more of a standard league option than PPR for the time being.
