Are we bad? Sunday’s battering at the hands of the Jets was one of those games where compounding successful plays seemed to be impossible. Penalties, drops, missed tackles: bad football. Most of the fluidity concerns in the offense stem from the lack of protection. When Rodgers maneuvered his pocket, the receivers failed to make key completions. Rodgers was also missing easy opportunities by his own standards so there was plenty blame to go around.
What was originally deemed as easy wins for Green Bay the last two weeks, the Packers have another opponent they’re expected to be leagues better than. The Washington Football Team is rolling out a new quarterback in Taylor Heinicke. He nearly willed Washington to a victory in Lambeau last season. He replaces error prone Carson Wentz, which would’ve been smashed in pieces by the defensive stalwart Rashan Gary. Heinicke has a bit more wiggle to his game and can evade the rush to keep our questionable defense busy throughout the afternoon.
Sunday’s matchup in Washington will hopefully feature a heavy dose of running and settle the storm of concerns. We know that’s unlikely and we will keep trying to figure out the passing offense when that seems to be a glaring opportunity against this questionable Commander secondary. Washington has a host of talent on both sides of the ball featured by sure handed wide receiver Terry McLaurin and a trio of running backs. Cover the crossers and slow down the improv of a frisky QB.

Commanders rank bottom 3rd in the league in points allowed to WRs through the first six weeks of the season. They also rank top 5 against tight ends although Tonyan appears reliably healthy after a 10 catch performance last week.
Green Bay has been their own worst enemy and not taking advantage of opportunities with mental mistakes and failure to execute. Granted each game is new, this Washington team made the Bears look like a competitive team so proceed with optimism albeit cautious. Matt LaFleur and Rodgers need to figure out whatever complexity of the offense will be most suited to the players we currently have. Worst case scenario Packers stink again and urges management to be more aggressive in the market. Hard to expect a huge turnaround overnight for all three phases of the game. Can’t have multiple blocked kicks in games, feels like 1000% chance of loss if that occurs. Green Bay takes the lead early and never relinquishes.
